The Coalition

The BOlder Women’s Health Coalition is organizing leaders in healthcare, public policy, research, business, and nonprofit service.

About Us

Mission Statement

Preamble: Aging women face complex and often interconnected issues in health, wellness, and independence. For too long, the needs of older women have been ignored or accepted as normal and dismissed.  This rising generation of older women will redefine what it means to live a fulfilling and healthy life after 50. We will work together to catalyze a new cultural awareness for older women and break down stereotypes.

Mission: By coordinating advocacy and policy efforts, sharing resources, supporting research, and creating a universal Bolder Women’s Health Agenda, we can better serve aging women and the clinicians and advocates who care for them.

Meeting Reports:

Four Pillars:

We convened four meetings between 2015 and 2019 with women’s health advocates, clinical associations, and government agencies. Together, we identified the need for this coalition, and in 2018, we established a framework:

Our work focuses on four pillars.

ADVOCACY

Advocating for a better future for older women.

CLINICAL EDUCATION

Strengthening health care providers’ knowledge of prevention, diagnostics, and holistic treatments for older women.

PUBLIC EDUCATION

Developing greater cultural awareness of older women’s physical and mental health needs while pushing back on stigma and stereotypes.

RESEARCH

Promoting new research and approaches to research on older women’s health and wellness.
